01 — The firm

Two lawyers, complementary expertise across shipping and transport

Founded in Paris, the Asterias Avocats group brings together two lawyers — Franck Dollfus and Christian Hübner — whose backgrounds span the whole of maritime, transport and insurance law. Coming from the transport-insurance, broking and marine world, they support shipowners, carriers, insurers and cargo interests, in advice as in litigation, in French, English and German. This dual culture, legal and operational, makes it possible to connect the contract, the insurance and the regulation in fields where time bars are short and the stakes often international. The group defends a French and foreign clientele, before the courts as well as in maritime arbitration.

Christian Hübner began as legal counsel to the marine division of AXA Corporate Solutions and the FFSA, before practising in broking and then as a lawyer. An arbitrator at the Paris Maritime Arbitration Chamber and a lecturer in inland-waterway and maritime arbitration law, he advises in French, English and German. Together, the two lawyers cover the full range of activities that the sea and transport give rise to.
